What to Wear to a Job Interview

If it’s an office-based or project management role:

  • Men:
    • Collared shirt (button-down or polo), clean slacks or khakis
    • Optional blazer or lightweight jacket
    • Clean dress shoes or loafers (no steel-toe boots needed here)
  • Women:
    • Blouse or smart top with slacks or a knee-length skirt
    • Optional cardigan or blazer
    • Flats or low heels (closed-toe preferred)

If it’s a field or skilled trade interview (e.g., electrician, welder, machine operator):

  • Wear clean, well-fitting work clothes that show you’re ready for the job, but still respectful of the interview setting:
    • Clean jeans or work pants (avoid rips or stains)
    • Collared shirt or clean polo
    • Steel-toe or work boots (polished, if possible)
  • Avoid wearing anything too casual like graphic tees or hoodies
