Welcome to the (RLE) Workforce Development Program.

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) will begin construction on the Red Line Extension (RLE) Project. This major initiative will add new transit service on Chicago’s Far South Side by extending the Red Line—CTA’s busiest rail line—south by 5.5 miles from the 95th Street Terminal to 130th Street. The proposed RLE Project will include four new stations near 103rd Street, 111th Street, Michigan Avenue, and 130th Street. Each new station will include bus and parking facilities.

The RLE Project will reduce commute times for residents, improve mobility and accessibility, and provide connections to other transportation modes. The project will also foster economic development, where new stations will serve as catalysts for neighborhood revitalization and help reverse decades of disinvestment in local business districts.

As part of the RLE project, CTA has partnered with Walsh VINCI Transit Community Partners (WVTCP) and SYSTRA-EXP Joint Venture to provide a workforce development program that will expose community members to diverse job opportunities that will fuel job growth, and career advancement for residents.
